Shankhini Saree
The Shankhini Saree is handwoven in a fine handspun cotton yarns that are naturally-dyed by hand in yellow and green. The saree draws inspiration from the conch shell and features jamdani motifs that resemble the natural patterns often found on seashells. These are woven with delicate threads in shades of green and blue and placed in a repetitive pattern. These jamdani motifs are accompanied by stripes in green, blue, and silver zari for added dimension. The star of this saree is the pallu, which features bands in various tones of green, creating the illusion of depth. This block of green is completed with large jamdani motifs arranged thoughtfully to mimic the way seashells are found buried in the sand at beaches. With its striking pallu, meticulous design, and dreamy drape, this saree is a must-have and ideal for celebrations and festivals.
There may be slight variations in weave and colour from the images. These natural variations are intrinsic to handloom saree craftsmanship, making each piece unique and beautiful.
